Evidence before enthusiasm
Founders and growing companies must explain what they are building, why the opportunity matters, how the business is performing and what it needs to reach the next milestone — often under time pressure and to sceptical audiences.
The most persuasive investment story is rarely the most ambitious one. It is the one where the numbers, the strategy, the assumptions and the narrative all reinforce one another. That is where many pitches fall short: a strong deck that does not match the model, KPIs defined differently from one document to the next, or a data room assembled at the last minute.
DataInvest combines experience in banking and financial services, startups and business intelligence with executive storytelling. We help founders communicate both opportunities and uncertainties with professionalism and transparency.
Our advisory focus
- Strategic positioning — clarify the opportunity, competitive differentiation, commercial model and growth priorities.
- Investor-ready business intelligence — define the KPIs that fit your business model and build reporting dashboards that track them reliably.
- Pitch and investment narratives — structure an evidence-based presentation linking market, performance, strategy and milestones.
- Data room preparation — organise financial, strategic and operational information so due diligence runs efficiently and consistently.
- Financial and commercial storytelling — translate complex performance data into narratives boards and investors can evaluate.
- Board and investor communication — structured performance updates, milestone reporting and executive presentations.
The right metrics for your model
There is no universal pitch checklist. The metrics that build confidence depend on how your business makes money:
- Recurring-revenue businesses — annual recurring revenue, net revenue retention, gross margin, CAC payback, burn multiple and cash runway.
- Transaction businesses — gross transaction value, take rate, contribution margin, revenue concentration and unit economics.
- Asset-heavy businesses — valuation assumptions, income yield, leverage, capital expenditure, cash flow and downside scenarios.
Where forward-looking assumptions matter, predictive analytics and scenario modelling make them explicit and testable.
How we work
1. Review
We assess strategy, metrics, materials and information gaps from an investor's perspective.
2. Structure
We define the KPI framework and the storyline, and align deck, model and data room.
3. Build
We develop the narrative, presentation, dashboards and data room structure with your team.
4. Sustain
After the raise, we can support recurring investor updates and board reporting, so credibility compounds over time.
